So Now im back in the states

Let me tell you all something I went through a real emotional rollercoaster–this is something that I can not describe because even when it was described to me it didnt come close to any of those words. On a scale from 1-10 of how painful it was to transition back to civilian life I would say it was a 100! Literally the moment I landed on US soil I felt like I had made a huge mistake and I wanted to go back….. WTF!?!?! Then I couldnt sleep, I was a walking ZOMBIE for about 2 straight weeks::::the second day back I broke out into random bouts of tears, like full on im boohoo. Again WTF?!?!? I didnt want to see anybody while in cali the only person I saw was my homegirl Kaloni and my other homegirl Vay people that looked out for me you know….so I hid from the world, it was just too much—way too much stimulation.

That same week I returned Saturday I took off to the Dirty Dirty south to see my second sister we did a road trip to see my first sister who lives in DC–madness I know but it was all for a good cause–grad school. So I was just visiting mad friends that  I hadn’t seen since before I left–

I went to visit my university from Undergrad to see my professors::pretty much beg them for letters of recs–the one professor I was scared to see  ended up giving me the best letter of recommendation I have ever seen!!!! (lets just say he was one of my challenging professors that can smell bullshit lightyears away, so you have NO choice but to come correct in his classes!!!) anyways I couldnt have been more thankful, it was meant to happen that way–considering 2 of my professors no longer worked there (heartbreaking).

We then made our way to DC so we could spend thanksgiving and my birthday up there!!! Oh yea everybody my birthday passed hahaah first time in my life where my birthday really wasnt a big deal to me—for my birthday I met the creator of the Zuresh product line so I will have to do an update post of  all the sweet things I bought from her OMG let me just say::::HEAVEN!!!!! We ate at this spanish restaurant but on the way there I passed out in the car for a quick Zombie nap. Out of nowhere I just woke up like a Dracula or something. My sisters were like What the heck is wrong with you!?!?!  After I awoke I walked across the street to best buy to purchase Kanyeeeezy CD (yeeezy taught me) and then had dinner it was a good night(sorry the pics of the dinner got deleted)

but here are some highlights of my road trip

We then made our way to NYC to visit my aunt in BROOKLYN!!! My third Home.

my sister just had to be a tourist

Headed to Philly philly to visit my grad school, sat in on a class and spoke with the director of the department International Peace and Conflict Resolution. Looking good folks wish me luck on acceptance–after I visited the other half of the 3Musketeers and her baby in New Jersey.

My last week was a whirlwind

During my last week I had so much crap to do it didn’t make any sense but I took it day by day. My flight is scheduled to leave Wednesday and on Monday I have to go to immigration office to extend my ARC card(dont worry about this just explaining my day) I spent about 2-3hours there monday and tuesday— no worries because I live only a few blocks away so I went home to kill time and then I would return.

Sidebar::::::I lost my freaking phone AGAIN!! Two weeks before I’m scheduled to leave——–uggggghhhh!!! How did this happen??? I don’t know?? All I know is the one day I’m pumping myself  up getting ready for my morning commute, I was blasting GOOD  music in my ears while riding my bike and I somehow drop my phone(and a SD card filled with pics and video I wanted to use for the blog)…………..anyways back to the story

Now its tuesday and Its my last night in South Korea and I have a date!?! yea a date!!! what great timing::: I liked this gentleman and he made the plans so I just rolled with it–I still had packing to do but in my mind I reasoned a date was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYyyy more important then packing. The date went lovely and that’s all I will say!!

Here are pics from my last day of teaching. It was a sad day indeed.

It really shouldnt be so complicated

Lately I have been slacking on my blog and the main reason is well…because I haven’t been inspired or compelled to write. I enjoy blogging I like writing but the work behind the scenes is more than most people would expect, it’s not as though I don’t have the time (actually as of lately I really haven’t had the time) but I wish this blogging thing could be more simplified there are so many steps just to upload pics then proofread then tag the subjects blah blah blah….at the end of the day I just want to relax and do nothing….even when I’m doing nothing I’m doing something—so with that being said I want to upload my Taiwan pictures but I just haven’t had the time to deal with WordPress’s crap.  Just to tell you a little secret I normally upload my pictures when I’m at school I USED to have time in the day on Tuesday to handle those kinds of things, but since I have been left by myself to teach the English classes I haven’t had time to do NOTHING!!!! I am always lesson planning so any time I do have on my hands, its spent getting other urgent things prepared.

Which brings me to my next topic first let me show you these pics

….

Do you know what those are and what it means????c’mon take a guess you can do it….

Ok give up…. well those my friends are two boxes that will be shipped off to CALIFORNIA why is this a big deal you might ask?????WELL I’M OUTTA HERE IN 6WEEKS!!! COUNT’ EM UP 6WEEKS YIIIIIKKES!!! I am so elated too excited I can’t even tell you. Since I’ve gotten back from my trip everything has been centered around making sure I have a smooth transition outta here. The first thing on my mind was let me pack a couple of items because I was getting a lil stressed about luggage overages so Monday I have off, I decided I will take a taxi to the post office and mail these babies off…next I need to make a dash to a bank so that I can wire money to my travel agent because I have booked my flight for NOVEMBER the 16th shes definitely gotta get paid ASAP, then I need to skeedadle to my bank to wire some money home the currency exchange is mad low right now(I have been stalking the rates for the 3months now) and I have been holding onto this money till it was the right time to transfer it away,  then lastly I was gonna head to the store to return some leggings. My favorite leggings have officially been washed to smithereens and I wanted to replace them because their holding on by threads— long story short the ones I picked up were not the replacements why the hell am I even telling you this anyways everyday or every other day I clean up or throw away useless items so when the last few day roll around im not stuck trying to get rid of it at once.

Lastly I have been feeling like a hefer I feel like I have gained massive weight but in reality I really haven’t the reason I feel like a hefer is because I went from doing YOGA 3-4 times a week to 0 times a week and trust me I have tried to keep up on my own buts its not the same and I’ve never been one to be a solo workout kinda person my body was on its way to being stacked and in one year its not all lost just frustrating because I have a goal that I want my body to reach, oh and for those that are saying under your breath why didn’t you join a YOGA studio out here WELL been there tried that. All the studios instructors are Korean who have directions given in Korean and ?!?!?! not gonna work.

Ok till next time supposedly I’m getting a new co-teacher so I hope shes decent and can jump right into the swing of things and begin lesson planning with me cuz im sick of doing 7 kinds of lesson plans all by my dammy.

Anticipating my Depature…this is very nerve wracking !!!

So I’m finally getting over the frustration/Drama that went down on what seemed to be a good Friday.

At 9:30a.m. I was awakened by my phone ringing, this call was in regards to my banking situation which I will get into later on—for now lets stick to the DRAMA. After I concluded my conversation with the Banks something told me to check my email…duh-duh-duuuuuuhhhhhh I received an email from my beloved recruiter Soon, BTW I like Soon hes cool peoples, hes a man of his word and that means a lot in this bizness especially if you decide to follow my path…anyways the email was entitled: Monique-docs arrived but…….my heart instantly stopped(I traced my brain to think what I could have possibly screwed up…I then thought i don’t like buts unless we talken about bootys and that’s not what we talken about) enclosed was this email; “hi Monique, 1. crc – it has to be statewide, but yours is county wide, therefore, you need to do it again from California Police Department2. TESL certificate – it has to show how many hour long (100 hour long – minimum)3. passport type photo – has to be colored.
can you gather these ones again?”

I know your thinking to yourselves whats the big deal Monique just resend the stuff and be on your merry way……oh but its not so easy. I had just finished spending $93.28 to express deliver this package to South Korea so that it would arrive by the end of the week so I, Monique could be sitting pretty on a plane by OCT 19th( this is my pops birthday) with her E-2 visa……Soon my recruiter is a savior because all I wanted to do was cuss his ass out for giving me the wrong info(be sure your recruiter never rushes you into getting the E-2 visa this is your golden ticket to working abroad carefree, make sure its done!!! and done right!!! they are cracking down harder and harder on illegal teachers)

Long story short I had to come out the pocket another $110 reason being

1. I had to get another CRC(criminal record check) redone because the state of California does not issue out a “STATEWIDE” crc. Only county (cali’s too gotdamn big and were broke) this crc was published in the state of Washington(yes I’m aware I’m not from there but since theirs are statewide its valid…..with S.Korean govt its all about the wording not the context….already learning) Soon my recruiter….he’s a ‘G’ at what he does……. he already had a backup plan of how to get this done without waisting MORE time, yes MORE money but NO on the time– remember that as well (i swear hes like brotha man from Martin, always gotta connect, always gotta be on his grizzly)

2. I had to re-print out 2 Color passport size photos( i used black and white, that’s what was recommended to me but apparently the school wanted color) that was easy…word to the wise ‘use photos of you that show some personality….no mug shot type photos’—Koreans are very into looks so ladies use photos where light make-up has been applied, or fresh faced as I like to call it and gentleman more of the GQ/modelesque look….for some schools these are the only photos they have to base their decisions on so make it a lasting impression(say cheeese 🙂

3. I immediately drove to the school where i was TESOL certified (loved this fucken class it was the shyt) before i drove there i pre-warned Christina what had went down earlier in regards to the e-mail, she calmed me down and said she could reprint my TESOL transcript at no cost. This was important because this was the form that had stated I had spent 120hours being certified–she also typed a personal letter of reference pertaining to the validity of the hours….i f-in luv Christina too she has been the shyt throughout this whole experience BTW i met Christina because we both were taking the TESOL training class but she ended up becoming a director for the school so she has definitely spoiled me!!!!!!!

phhhhhhhhhewwwww after all that it was 4:15p.m when I walked to the US post office to drop off my package once again the package was departing to S.Korea, only this time i sent it regular express so the package will be there by Oct. the 14th fine by me—it only cost me $27 and sum change…..I’m broke

now I’m off to sell my 2004 Honda Accord—-ahhhh it never ends stay tuned
